The Sunken Garden Society works to restore the Sunken Garden in Westbrook, Margate, making it an accessible community space that supports families, young people and those facing isolation while promoting environmental awareness.

The grant funded the Sunken Garden Eco Fair, covering event infrastructure, workshops, specialist support, volunteer costs and marketing.
The event attracted over 2,000 visitors, featured 50 organisations and offered workshops and talks on gardening, wildlife, rewilding and sustainability. It encouraged family participation, inspired young people, strengthened community connections and raised awareness of the Sunken Garden through increased volunteer involvement and social media engagement.
65% of organisations reported that most or nearly all beneficiaries had access to more high quality outdoor spaces as a result of the funded project
58% of organisations reported that most or nearly all participants felt that the funded project worked to improve the local environment
