Quality Accredited by UK Community Foundations

Kent Community Foundation is proud to be Quality Accredited by UK Community Foundations, a programme that endorses and encourages best practice across the Community Foundation network.

We have held this accreditation since 2007, and following a rigorous assessment in 2025, we were delighted to have it renewed. This achievement reflects our commitment to high standards, accountability, and transparency in everything we do.

What does Quality Accreditation mean?

Quality Accreditation demonstrates that a Community Foundation is serious about quality and governance. It sets out what we do and how we do it, in a way that other quality systems cannot. It also positions Community Foundations as part of a high-performing national network, sharing best practice and driving continuous improvement.

Why is it important?

Holding Quality Accreditation means:

  • We meet robust standards of governance and service.

  • We operate with accountability and transparency, giving donors confidence.

We have a platform to share best practice with other Community Foundations across the UK.

What does the assessment cover?

Quality Accreditation is based on a set of standards relevant to Community Foundations, covering five key performance areas plus a corporate assessment:

  • Strategy, governance, definitions and risk

  • Financial and information management

  • Philanthropy services and donor management

  • Grant-making and community participation

  • Organisational and network development
