In Kent, one in seven households is occupied by a pensioner living alone. Over half of these pensioners are people with long-term life limiting illness. These are some of our local residents most at risk from the cold.
This winter, Kent Community Foundation will be working closely with local partners such as Age UK and other local front-line groups and organisations across Kent to provide support to older, vulnerable people who are suffering because of fuel poverty. The money will be directed to those most in need of help to make sure they can afford to stay warm, eat well and remain mobile, as well as help them in practical ways such as ensuring they can make doctors' appointments, get to the shops and maintain an active social life. If you feel you don't need your Winter Fuel Payment, please consider contributing it to our Surviving Winter Fund which will help many older people literally survive the winter.
Please don't feel you have to give all your payment, but do consider donating whatever you'd like to give to help other older people this winter.

Please note that KCF's aim is for every penny donated to be directed where it is needed. We will cover administrative costs by Gift Aid payments, which means, effectively, the Government, not our donors, meet these costs.
