Let’s put Kent on the map this #LocalCharitiesDay

13th December 2017

Local Charities Day on Friday 15th December 2017 is an initiative from UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to help people find causes in their area and get involved. The dedicated day will give local charities a united voice and celebrate the work of small grassroots organisations that are making remarkable differences in their local communities.

As a Community Foundation servicing Kent and Medway we work with local groups and charities that operate well beneath the radar. Through the support of our donors and fund-holders we aim to empower organisations and charities in our local communities who make a real and positive difference to people’s lives. At Kent Community Foundation, we see the huge impact these grassroots organisations have on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community.

In 2016/17 Kent Community Foundation gave out £1,516,468 in grants to 403 individuals and local organisations. This benefitted over 86,000 people across Kent and Medway.

This #LocalCharitiesDay let’s put Kent and Medway on the map to highlight the amazing work taking place across our county. Show your support and add your details to the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport interactive map.
