Meet the funders

30th March 2018

Kent Community Foundation hosted a free advice and information session for over 40 voluntary organisations and community groups in Kent on Monday 26 March from 10am to 12.30pm at Maidstone Community Support Centre.

The purpose of the event was to enable groups to meet the team at Kent Community Foundation, so they could receive advice on accessing funding available in Kent, what current and up and coming funds there are, the application assessment process and what the Kent Community Foundation looks for, access to social lending (Kent Social Enterprise Loan Fund) and also grants available for individuals.

There were also talks by speakers including:

Big Lottery – who will be giving an early insight into their latest funding strategy which is about to be rolled out.

Expert speaker on GDPR (data protection) from Kreston Reeves -Chartered Accountants & Financial Advisers.

After the talks, Kent Community Foundation offered one-to-one sessions for attendees to find out more about current funding opportunities.

Kent Community Foundation is also offering short one to one funding advice sessions which can be booked at or call 01303 814 500.

Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive of Kent Community Foundation comments: “This is an excellent opportunity for small organisations who are looking for funding to come and talk to us directly, so we can give them the benefit of our knowledge and experience and also hopefully match them with some suitable funding. It is increasingly difficult and can be very time consuming for smaller organisations to access funding, so we hope to provide them with the knowledge to navigate their way through this process more effectively.”
