The Medway 100 Fund

<< Back to Corporate Giving

Jade Mcnally, Bill Mayo-Bedford, Karen Hurley from Medway CyreniansThe Medway 100 Club (or Medway Fund) is a collective fund which pools donations from generous Medway businesses and organisations to help support their local community. The aim of the Fund is to bring together socially responsible local businesses and connect them with innovative projects, which make a real difference in the local community and help those most in need.

Each member makes an annual charitable donation, which is pooled to create a collective fund. It is this collective and proactive approach that enables the organisations to work together to make a bigger impact in the community. Through the Medway 100 Club, Corporate Social Responsibility is no longer an activity just for large, multinational corporations.  Businesses and individuals of any size can play their part in effective local giving and supporting their community.

Recent recipients include:

Medway Winter Shelter, who provide shelter and a hot meal to homeless people with a connection to Medway during the coldest and most difficult time of the year

Café Sunlight CIC, a social enterprise, that creates employment and training opportunities through its training kitchen and community café in Gillingham

Caring Hands in the Community, who provide shelter, food and training opportunities to homeless and disadvantaged people in Chatham

Members hear directly from the people and projects working at the grassroots in the community at a networking event. This is a terrific opportunity for local businesses to hear first-hand from those working with the most pressing issues facing the local community and to discuss long-term needs and solutions. As well as distributing the Medway 100 Club funds, it is an important opportunity for networking, developing local partnerships across the sectors and exploring in-kind support opportunities.

"As a long-term resident of Medway I am proud to be supporting the Medway 100 Club. It is a straightforward way for local businesses to give something back and to be more engaged and connected with their community."

"The Giving Circles are great opportunities to meet with some brilliant local charities who are working hard within our community to make long-lasting, positive changes.  I would encourage other Medway businesses to get involved and see how they can help make a real difference."
